GUIDO´S BOUTIQUE SUITES N.4

"Outstanding - can't wait to go back"   MAR 2011 -5 stars-
My wife and I stayed at Guido's #4 February 23 - 27 2011. We have been to Cozumel many times and didn't want to stay at a resort or large hotel, Guido's seemed like a good option for us.
The suite is new and spacious. We really appreciated the full kitchen. It is 3 short blocks north of the Playa del Carmen ferry and it is easily within walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and shopping, etc. Anything you would need is nearby.

The neighborhood was also very quiet and after the shops closed for the evening and there were few people around after around 9:00PM. As well the suite is tastefully decorated and the king size bed was very comfortable. Isabella the manager was very attentive and if we needed something she was very quick to respond. We will definitely be back.

"Relaxing & Rejuvenating Trip"   JAN 2011 -5 stars-
I stayed in Guido's Suite #4 over 2010 Christmas, and really enjoyed my stay a lot. It's a beautiful location, looking out on the ocean.
It's right on the boardwalk (aka tourist strip) but the majority of the foot traffic & action happens during the day when the cruise ship crowds come in. They start wandering by around 10am and the street is quiet by 7pm. At night the street traffic is minimal, and there isn't too much action besides the upscale restaurant below.
The apartment itself is great, brand-new renovation, completed with care. Nice furnishings, nice bathroom, nice (firm) bed with lots of pillows.
I like to cook when I'm in Mexico so it was nice having a full kitchen. It would be nice if there were more cooking utensils and pots & pans selection, but only if you're intending on cooking a bunch. One thing I did miss is a blender for making Piña Coladas ;)
but overall I really enjoyed my stay and felt right at home. Isabella (owner) was very sweet and available on email or phone for any questions or needs.
The cleaning woman was very nice and thorough, I was very impressed.
One thing I would mention, is that there is a lively (& delicious!) restaurant downstairs with a walled garden outdoor area that is open till 11pm everyday, but usually has people dining until about 11:30-11:45. There is definitely some noise that travels up, so if you're a very light sleeper, you might consider Suite #1 instead. It didn't bother me as I am used to some city noise where I live.
Steve.
